Our goal is the research, development and application of sensors with embedded measuring systems for fast acquisition and analysis of data. All sensors have a network connection, either wireless or via Ethernet cable. Power is supplied to the wireless variants via lithium-ion accumulators. The measuring systems work according to the client-server principle. The sensor is the server and generates dynamic web pages. The client can be any computer (desktop, notebook, tablet or smartphone) on the network. This means that every standard browser on a client computer controls the sensor and displays the measurement results.

For three years sensors with integrated measuring system have been developed for the non-destructive testing method Acoustic Emission. A proven range of sensors already exists. Now the second generation of these sensors is presented. The sensor housing contains an analog section, a digital signal processing unit and a web server. The analogue part amplifies the sensor signal and forms the logarithmic envelop for data reduction. AE parameters such as arrival time, rise time, duration, peak amplitude and energy are extracted from the envelope by the digital signal processing unit. In parallel to the parameter extraction, the waveform of the envelope can be recorded. The web server generates dynamic web pages to control the sensor and to display the measurement results. The measurement results are available everywhere in the network and can be displayed with any browser. Even at low data transmission rates, a high temporal resolution of the diagrams is achieved. The sensor is either wireless (type WiFi) or via Ethernet cable (type PoE) connected to a data network.

The sensors of the second generation have a submicrosecond precise time synchronization. Together with a so-called Mid Device, it is possible to set up sensor networks that allow location of the AE sources. Here the Mid Device creates the dynamic web pages. The third generation of AE sensors is currently being developed. Here the data transmission for all types takes place wirelessly. Various modules (wireless and wired) can be docked in relation to the power supply.

The server-client principle enables the construction of low-priced acoustic emission systems. The web structure takes care of high flexibility. Our service advises and assists you in the selection and adaptation of hardware and software as well as in the design of the network architecture and the possibilities for self-sufficient power supply. For other applications we develop sensors in your order.

Our experience is relevant for measurement tasks where the data rate is high and which require intelligent information compression.
